Carlo Marrazza is an Italian documentary and fine art photographer based in Italy, working on long-term human and cultural projects across Asia and Africa.

His work focuses on human identity, resilience, and the deep relationship between people and the environments they inhabit. Through immersive, long-term projects developed within different cultures and remote territories, he explores humanity beyond stereotypes and conventional representations, seeking authentic and dignified narratives.

His work has received international recognition, including:
– Best in Show at Xposure 2017 with the photograph Iceland Abstract
– International Photography Award (IPA) 2023, First Prize in the People category
– Lucie Award 2023 as Non-Professional Photographer

Carlo Marrazza’s photographic approach is rooted in direct human connection, patience, and immersion. Rather than staging reality, he seeks to encounter it—allowing trust, time, and shared experience to shape the final image.

He currently works with Fujifilm GFX 100, GFX 100 II and GFX RF medium format systems, using prime lenses. However, he considers light—natural or artificial—and human relationships to be the true essential tools of his photography.

His projects stand at the intersection of documentary research and fine art, often addressing themes of cultural memory, transformation, and survival. His work is driven by long-term immersion, human connection, and the pursuit of authentic, unfiltered narratives.
